As a Communications Associate for The Impact Seat Foundation’s Communications Associate, Sophia works to ensure project and content management on behalf of the foundation and assists in implementing the brand, social media, and marketing strategies for The Impact Seat Foundation. Sophia also manages scheduling, calendaring and logistics for the CEO, Cheryl Contee. With a background in social media, political organizing, and brand development, Sophia hopes to help the foundation make key strides during their launch year and beyond.
Before working with The Impact Seat Foundation, Sophia worked for San Diego City Councilmember Vivian Moreno and Former Senator Kamala D. Harris in their district offices, managing outreach, assisting with speechwriting, and supporting media projects. Sophia spent time during the COVID-19 pandemic’s early days working with a small business to develop their brand strategy in partnership with World Central Kitchen and their philanthropic efforts. Sophia is a former CASA volunteer and Save The Children canvasser.
Sophia earned her B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University in 2020. At SDSU, Sophia was a part of the college radio program as well as The Odyssey Online, where she was Editor-in-Chief for the campus publication, managing editing, content, and social media.
